Yummy! (Tuna/Egg Salad)

Made my ever so yummy tuna/egg salad tonight. It's so simple, but so tasty! Here's the recipe:

4 hard-boiled eggs (chopped up really fine)
1 can tuna, drained
5-6 Tbsp. of mayo (it's up to you)
2 Tbsp. pickle relish
4 Tbsp. finely minced onion
3/4 cup grated cheddar or marble cheese
salt & pepper to taste

Mix together in bowl. Can be used as a sandwich spread, or you can put it on buns, add extra cheese, wrap in foil and bake for an amazing tuna melt. Enjoy guys!

Hope ya like it... you can also use low fat mayo and low fat cheese if you're watching the tummy. Take care til next time!

From one foodie to another...

She's coined the word "yum-o", and we all use "e-v-o-o" to grease our pans. She has become a rising star in the foodie world. She's bubbly, outgoing, and she knows her food. This is more of a review than anything, but I would definitely recommend either watching her new talk show or read her magazine. Both are fantastic. And then, my confused reader, you can find the definitions for "yum-o" and "e-v-o-o" on there too! All I can say is, she is amazing, a definite genuine foodie!

Happy Thanksgiving

As everyone knows, Thanksgiving can be a day of hell for cooks all over. Leaving the giblet bag inside the bird, gravy won't thicken, pie doesn't cook. Could be a variety of things go wrong on such a beautiful day. Well, tonight, I can honestly say that nothing went wrong when making my first turkey dinner. We had a very moist tasty turkey, stuffing done in the slowcooker, mashed tatoes, dark and rich gravy, and broccoli with cheese sauce. And for dessert, nothing but pumpkin pie with whipped cream. I was so proud and utterly speechless that I pulled off this sometimes daunting meal, that I took pics for all to see:

Not too bad for a first dinner! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Let me know how your dinners were!

A Lifetime of Food

Food not only represents nutrition or sustenance, it also envokes thoughts, memories, and enjoyment. One form of food expression is through a recipe, whether it be tried and true, or a new twist on an old favorite. Recipes can be passed down from generation to generation, and never lose the memory of the original creator.

In essence, this site represents memories, creations, mistakes, and history. I will be slowly compiling recipes on here, some with stories, some with out. Some will also have pictures attached to them.

So put on your faithful apron, turn the oven on, and start creating a memory of your own.
